The calendar might say fall but here in The Golden State it’s summer all year round. While COVID-19 has put a damper on many things this year, it doesn’t mean fun and mischief are completely out of the question. We’ve gathered a few socially distant ideas for the whole family to enjoy while staying with us at The James.
Socially Distanced Picnic at West Hollywood Park
Stop by the market to pick up a few of your favorite items and head to West Hollywood Park, less than a 20-minute drive from The James. Enjoy the sunshine and a cool breeze while spending some time with the ones you love. We know virtual learning is tough on kids. Take advantage of the opportunity to run wild and let them get their ya-yas out. A reservation may be required, so be sure to check with the City of West Hollywood for guidance before your visit. Stay safe and don’t forget to wear your mask!
Hike to The Hollywood Sign
Now that the weather is beginning to cool, it’s the perfect time to take those hikes you always talk about. What better hike than a hike to the iconic Hollywood Sign and yet another opportunity to burn energy and get those wiggles out. Check out the Bronson Canyon hike. With a playground and picnic area at the base, you could spend the whole day enjoying nature. Not to mention, there’s some pretty rad recognizable movie locations along the way – including Batman’s Cave from the Batman TV series.
Pick Your Own Fruits and Vegetables at the Underwood Family Farm
Take the kids for a socially distanced field trip or a fun family afternoon at farm. It’s a great opportunity to learn about nature and healthy choices while supporting local. Pumpkin season is right around the corner. The Gigantic Pumpkin Patch and Pick Your Own Harvest begins Thursday, October 1 and continues through Saturday, October 31. Pick your own pumpkins and enjoy wagon rides, photo opps, a misting tunnel, corn trail ride-through and more!
This year looks a little different but safe and socially distant fun is still a possibility! If you and your family are in town for a short or extended-stay, give us a call at The James. We’ll be happy to have you. Visit www.thejameshollywood.com for more info.
